On June 9 & 10, 2008, Chapter 39 presented commendation letters to over 150 Army Veterans from the Secretary of the Army. The veterans are residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.

On one resident floor, as I walked into the Dayroom which was wall to wall wheelchairs, standing veterans with canes, walkers and crutches. I was immediately sadden by this sight and realized how important our DAV donations and support are to these veterans in improving their quality of life. I also noticed the new large screen TV (donated by the DAV) in the day room was a great source of entertainment.
