MNDAV Chapter 9 St. Cloud: Commander News: September / October 2008
 
 
The Chapter 9 picnic was held at the Waite Park Moose Club Picnic area. Thanks to those who attended
 
We placed  two Commemorative Plaques. One to Corborns at Centennial Plaza for all their efforts in supporting the DAV. The second was to the Ritzer Family for their efforts in all the DAV activities as a support group over the years. 
 
The Chapter is working very hard on raising the money to purchase a new Golf Shuttle Cart for the St. Cloud VAMC. We are over half the way there.
 
The Chapter and the Unit did very well in this Forget-Me-Not Drive. We raised 50% more than we did last year.
 
On Monday October 13, 2008 the Chapter put on a luncheon at the ST. Cloud State University – Veterans Higher Education Office. Around 30 new veterans attended and our Chapter members had a great time meeting and visiting with them.
 
We sponsored the Womens Veterans Day at the ST. Cloud VAMC. WE provided rides and drivers.
 
We will be sponsoring the High School Volunteer Program and encouraging the students to volunteer their time to helping veterans and to donate those hours to the DAV.
 
We will be supporting the Diabetes Clinic at the ST. Cloud VAMC on October 21 and 22, 2008 by providing rides and drivers.
 
On October 31, 2008 there will be a St,. Cloud Stand Down at the Armory in St. Cloud . We will be providing rides for the veterans and have a DAV booth and handle claims.
 
The next Chapter meeting will be on November 10, 2008 . It will be at the American Legion Club in Waite Park at 7:00 p.m.
