Telephone: (612) 970-5665 - Fax (612) 970-5671 The DAV NSO's are highly trained professionals that assist veterans and their families in filing claims for VA disability compensation, rehabilitation and education programs, pensions, death benefits, employment and training programs, and many other programs.
NSOs function as attorneys-in-fact for the veterans and families they very capably represent. They are skilled experts in developing and prosecuting veterans' claims through in-depth reviews of medical histories in conjunction with sound application of current law and regulations.
All of the DAV's NSOs are service connected, wartime disabled veterans themselves, and most of their work involves securing disability benefits from the VA.
NSO training begins with a rigorous 16 month on-the-job training (OJT) program. The OJT program combines the expertise of seasoned DAV NSOs providing comprehensive, advanced training in laws, regulations, benefit programs and related subjects, with college courses in anatomy and physiology, speech communications and legal writing and reasoning.
This training program is just another measure of the DAV's commitment to the highest level of quality representation provided to disabled veterans, their families and survivors, assuring quality service in the 21st century.

The past year was great success and the DAV NSO Office owes this success to several key groups. We would like to thank the many County Veterans Service Officers that have supported and assisted the DAV NSO Office over the past year. We thank the VARO and the VAMC for their assistance. The Department of Minnesota DAV has shown great support and assistance to the DAV NSO Office. We would like to thank everyone involved!
