Minneapolis DAV Auxiliary News
 
Some members of the Minneapolis Auxiliary do not receive the Minneapolis Chapter mailing so we want let you know that the Minneapolis Auxiliary meets the first Tuesday after the first Monday of the month, except July and August. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. preceded by a buffet supper at 5:45 p.m. at the Ft. Snelling Club. Our new members and all are welcome. Please join us.
 
The next meetings will be October 7th, November 4th, December 2nd .Officers for 2009 will be elected at the December meeting.
 
A reminder about membership dues. The membership year is July 1st to June 30th. Annual dues are $12.00.
 
Life membership dues are based on age as of the current membership year. Age 80 or over – complimentary; age 71-79 - $140.00; age 61-70-$180.00; age 41-60-$200.00; age 31-45 -$230.00; age 18-30 -$250.00. Life membership may be obtained with a minimum of $40.00 dollars with the balance within three membership years. Quarterly statements will be sent from DAV Auxiliary National Headquarters.
 
Eligibility for membership includes spouse, surviving spouse, parents, siblings, children, grandparents, grandchildren and great grandchildren of any person eligible, current or deceased, for membership in the DAV.

A Holiday party is planned at the VA Medical Center December 10th. Volunteers will meet on the second floor, room 2B141 to visit patients at bedside to bring a monetary gift and a stuffed toy. Come if you can. Each Unit and Chapter will receive a letter with further details.
 
Volunteers are needed at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Contact Miriam Kiser to arrange an interview with a volunteer co--ordinator.
